- For MTS: Written Test (Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions) in two papers: Paper-I (General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness) and Paper-II (General English, Quantitative Aptitude).
- For Driver: Written Test followed by Driving Test / Skill Test.

Driver	10th standard pass with valid driving license for LMV & HMV, knowledge of motor mechanism, 3 years driving experience.

Monthly Salary / Pay Scale

Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Level 1 (Rs 18,000 - 56,900), Approx. ₹ 34,200/- per month
Driver: Level 2 (Rs 19,900 - 63,200), Approx. ₹ 37,600/- per month

Other Relevant Details

These posts carry usual allowances i.e. Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA) etc. as admissible to the Central Government employees and as made applicable to CSIR.
Council employees are also eligible for accommodation of their entitled type as per CSIR Residence Allotment Rules depending on availability in which case HRA will not be admissible.
Social Security cover under New Pension Scheme (NPS) is applicable to the Council employees appointed on or after 01 January 2004.
All appointees are liable to be posted anywhere in India as and when required.
The number of vacancies may vary (increase or decrease) at the time of actual selection.
